We want to show the public the range of services that are available from
Equine Footwork. We seek to promote farriers and farriery in Ireland by
educating the public through ‘Exchanges’ and Pre-Farriery courses,
as well as Seminars and Demonstrations.
We firmly believe in the old adage “No foot, no horse!” Towards
this end we offer:

Exchanges
We provide a service for those interested in coming to Ireland to gain
an insight into farriery. If you are a farrier or an apprentice farrier
interested in being part of an exchange then we want to hear from you. Contact
Alternatively if you are interested in coming to Ireland on a holiday, working
in the farrier trade, then contact us using the contact form. We will be
in touch with details of available host farriers.

Pre-farriery course
You may be considering working as a farrier. If so and you are interested
in finding out more, as well gaining a hands on knowledge of farriery from
a Master Farrier, foundation courses of up to 48 weeks are available or
we will suit the course to individual needs.Contact
Seminars
Cathal Murphy of Equine Footwork is available to provide seminars on chosen topics covering Definition, Causes, Treatment. Topics might include:
- Angular Limb Deformities in Foals.
- Laminitis (Inflammation of the sensitive laminae of the hoof, especially in horses. Also called founder.)
- Navicular cases such as navicular diseases, a disease affecting the navicular bone, or the adjacent parts, in a horse's foot.
- Lost Shoe Syndrome.
Equine Footwork, through its network of contacts in the horse industry
throughout Ireland, can also source suitable lecturers corresponding to
the topic, availability and location. Submit your details using the contact

Demonstrations
We offer live hot shoeing demonstrations for
- Schools
- Holidaymakers/tour groups
- Pony clubs, riding clubs
